It covers a total surface area of 1.799 square kilometres, which extends throughout a total of 56 boroughs; 46 in the province of Zamora and a further 10 in the province of Salamanca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTierra del Vino\u201d has held a <strong>Designation of Origin <\/strong>since April 24th, 2007 when order AYG\/782\/2007, dated April 24th, came into effect.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image espacioBajoImagen\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/extranet.magnadian.com\/tierradelvino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/100_mapa_tierra_del_vino_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-401\" width=\"960\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tierradelvino.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/100_mapa_tierra_del_vino_2.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.tierradelvino.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/100_mapa_tierra_del_vino_2-300x155.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tierradelvino.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/100_mapa_tierra_del_vino_2-768x396.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The \u201cTierra del Vino\u201d Region benefits from a dry continental <strong>climate<\/strong> with extreme temperatures. The winters are bitterly cold and the summers dry and hot. Average temperatures do not exceed 3\u00baC in winter but in summer reach 23\u00baC. The top soil is deep, highly permeable and with an excellent retentive capacity, although poor in organic matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The underlying layers are reach and clay.
