The regulations governing out Designation of origin accept the following VARIETIES for “Tierra del Vino” wines:
PRINCIPAL VARIETIES
Red: Tempranillo
White: Malvasía, fine grain Moscatel and Verdejo
AUTHORISED
Red: Garnacha and Cabernet-Sauvignon
White: Albillo and Palomino
The most common plant density for low Bush vines is 3,00 x 3,00, and 3,00 x 1,50 for trellis vines.
The percentaje of trellis vines represents 30,39% of the total amount of registeres vines.
The average age of the vines registered with our Governing body is 65 years.
In Accordance with the regulations “Tierra del Vino” Denomination of origin includes de following types of WINE
WHITE
Made from de accepted White varieties, at least 60% of which must be principal varieties.
CLARETE
Made from de accepted varieties, including at least 30% Tempranillo and a máximum of 40% of the authorised varieties.
ROSE
Made from de accepted varieties, including at least 60% of the Tempranillo variety.
RED
Made from de accepted varieties, including at least 75% of the Tempranillo variety.
These wines may be subjected to ageing process.
In the case of red wines, our Governing Body regulates the use of the terms “Crianza, Reserva y Gran Reserva”.
The mínimum ageing periods and ageing in casks respectively are 24 and 6 months for Crianza wines, 36 and 12 months for Reserva wines, and 60 and 18 months for Gran Reserva wines.
